BIOMASS ENERGY CENTRE

The Centre is a technical information centre

based within

Forest Research, the research

agency of the Forestry

Commission. It supplies impartial information on biomass system

installation, fuel production,

handling and supply chains.

REA BIOMASS POWER GROUP

There are more than 200 companies and many more

individual

members in the Biomass Group,

which promotes the interests of

biomass electricity generation

throughout the complete supply

chain. Much of its work has

been concentrated on the introduction of stringent new sustainability

standards.

'back biomass' campaign.

SCOTTISH RENEWABLES

Scottish Renewables, with over

300 members from across the

supply chain, is dedicated to

securing the best possible environment

for the growth of

renewable energy in Scotland,

where almost half the electricity

demand is met by renewables. It

says more than £1 billion was

invested in renewables in

Scotland in 2013 alone and it

supports almost 12,000 jobs. Its

among others, offshore and

onshore wind, hydro, marine

and biomass.

The EG&S KTN is a Technology

Strategy Board initiative. Its aim

is to create an integrated and

dynamic network of business,

technology, academic and policy

EG&S sector. It is involved

across many of the energy subsectors

and has a common

approach involving actions to

accelerate the technical development of technologies

by

encouraging and enabling the

sharing of knowledge and information across

the industry,
