GTMA SUPPLIERS AT MACH
The UK's leading stockist and manufacturer
of Drill Bushes, Boneham & Turner
Ltd, has continued its investment into a
customer focused future, where putting
the customer at the forefront of every
company process is governing the whole
supply chain.
B&T's priority is to provide 'Precision
Engineered Solutions' precisely as the customer requires,
by creating a team of customer dedicated employees, backed by a
manufacturing facility and supply chain that
allows flexibility and fast turnarounds, but
remains globally competitive. The backbone
of the organisation is its manufacturing
capability and knowledge developed over
96 years.
The latest wave of engineers entered the
business in the last 18 months with a view
to future expansion of the team for the
future. This included the first B&T apprentice for 10 years, two new trainee toolmakers
and two further candidates for grinding
and CNC development. Manager Peter
Boneham explains that "the company looks
to hand opportunities to driven and motivated individuals, providing
a full programme of
skills in milling, turning, grinding and toolmaking, on a full spectrum of CNC and
manual machinery."
The cusomer focus initiative has also seen
the recruitment of an Internal Sales
Manager and a Supply Chain Manager,
both briefed to promote focus on customer
needs. Peter said: "It's a prerequisite of our
main customers that we can offer most
items, standard or special, off the shelf. If
we can't then we pride ourselves on the
ability to turn parts around quickly through
modification or our Fast-Track
service."
The people investment is backed by new
machinery, including finishing grinding
machines, heat-treatment and more laser
etching capacity. Its standard catalogue of
parts is nearly 350 pages, covering the
'Classics' range of Bushes, Pins and associated items as well as components in
Clamping & Fixing, Knobs & Handles,
Positioning & Machine Elements, Press Tool
Components and the Koenig range of
Expanders & Restricters.

NEW WAVE OF FOCUSSED INVESTMENT
CUSTOMER AT FOREFRONT OF SUPPLY CHAIN ACTION
Blum-Novotest will be giving its UK
exhibition debut to its new 3D tool
setting probe TC64-20 at MACH
2014.
The company is supplementing its tool
setting probe series with a high-precision, wireless
system that features BRC
Radio Technology, for tool setting and
tool breakage detection in three axes.
The advantage of BRC technology is
based on each single bit of the radio signal running across
the entire width of the frequency band, thus
making transmission particularly resistant to interference. Data is
transmitted to the radio receiver RC66 quickly and securely.
Just one receiver can be used to control up to six measuring
systems from the extensive Blum radio family. This includes all tool
setting probes and workpiece touch probes, as well as the newly
introduced DIGILOG measuring systems, the bore gauge BG60,
the roughness gauge TC63-RG or the workpiece temperature
measuring device TG81 that will all also be shown the MACH
exhibition.
