outstanding individuals, and
businesses that have gone the
extra mile and made a difference
to animal welfare.
ANIMAL HERO
AWARDS
Caring history
Hero Animal of the Year Award
2013 was presented to Ellie the
10-year-old ex racing greyhound.
She was found covered in fleas,
pressure sores and infected burns
after spending years living in a
concrete kennel with little food or
bedding. Ellie now spends her time
fundraising for Greyhound Rescue
and helping foster dogs adjust to
their lives post rescue.
Amanda Holden will announce the
winners of the Animal Hero Awards 2014.
The RSPCA and Royal & Sun Alliance have been
providing help and support to animals and people
in their time of need for hundreds of years.
Since 1824 the RSPCA has been at the heart
of animal welfare in England and Wales. Now
through the partnership MORE TH>N and the
RSPCA are working together for healthier
pets. Cruelty to animals takes many forms and
the RSPCA has fought it on every front for
nearly 200 years.
MORE TH>N shares the RSPCA's
important goals of preventing cruelty
to animals and promoting kindness and
alleviating suffering.
Perfect partners
In 2013 MORE TH>N and the RSPCA joined forces
to work together for healthier pets. A major part of
being a responsible pet owner is insuring your pet,
so the partnership between MORE TH>N and the
RSPCA is the perfect fit. The money raised through
the partnership has and will continue to improve
the lives of animals throughout England and Wales.
Every year the RSPCA works tirelessly for animals.
In 2013 the charity collected and rescued
245,590 animals; investigated 153,770 animal
cruelty complaints and secured 3,961 convictions;
and found loving new homes for 55,323 animals.

crucial life-saving work, it relies entirely on financial
