RIVER BLYTHE RIVER RESTORATION PLAN

LOCATION: River Blythe Site of Special Scientific

Interest (SSSI), Warwickshire

CLIENT: Environment Agency and Natural England

A restoration plan and long term vision for the River

Blythe SSSI was developed. The River Blythe is an

exceptional and rare example of one of Britain's seminatural

lowland rivers on clay, supporting a diverse

range of flora and fauna.

WHAT WE DID

• Identified physical modifications which impact the

geomorphology and ecology of the river

• Produced a restoration plan for the whole river on

a reach by reach basis

• Identified mechanisms to deliver river

restoration solutions.

BENEFITS TO THE CLIENT

• Experienced team of ecologists and

geomorphologists

• Use of our field data collection tool GISmapp

which increased post fieldwork efficiency

• Integration of hydromorphology with site specific

fisheries ecology to generate impact assessments

following hydromorphological modification.
