Since the beginning of September, we
have had five volunteering groups who
have contributed a total of 200 hours to
helping us keep our grounds safe and
functional for our young people.
We had three groups from the AWE come and help
to clear the courtyard garden and memorial garden,
ensuring nothing spiky remained which may have
injured our young people. They also gave some of
our outdoor furniture a new lease of life with a fresh
coat of paint.
A group from Microsoft and Tanium helped to clear
weeds and matting out of our pet therapy paddock,
ensuring that a previously unusable space is once
again functional.
A group from Thames Water helped us to assemble
the equipment donated to us by Kärcher, and made
a start on tearing up the matting underneath our
therapy paddock.

Remembering dear friends
The third annual Wear
Green for Joseph day has
been held on our site to
remember our muchmissed colleague
Joseph
Mugabe.
A fantastic football match was
held involving staff and young
people, with a final score of 7-7.
Staff and young people were also
invited to wear green on the day.
Joseph, who passed away in 2021,
was a much-loved Senior Autism
Practitioner around site and we
wear green as this is the colour of
Caps United, the football team in
Zimbabwe Joseph played for with
great distinction before he moved
to the UK.
And on October 11, staff across
Prior's Court paused to reflect
on the fifth anniversary of the
minibus
accident
in which
we lost our
colleagues Lorraine Maclellan,
Jason Aleixo, and Cathy Gardiner.
