Seven spectacular runners
capped off World Autism
Acceptance Week by taking
on a tremendous task.
On World Autism Acceptance Day
itself (Sunday, 2 April) a team of
runners completed the London
Landmarks Half Marathon to raise
money for our work supporting young
people with complex autism.
The seven consisted of five Prior's
Court staff members and two who
have siblings who are residents at
Prior's Court.
The runners - Jenny Peacock, Chris
Sturm, Kaitlin Lawrence, Tomson
Chauke, Claudine Osso, Jack Clark, and
Jo Lovelock - managed to raise more
than £7,000 overall.
The incredible runners completed the
marathon in the following times:
l Jack - 1:45:17
l Chris - 1:47:29
l Kaitlin - 2:04:06
l Jo - 2:09:18
l Claudine - 2:24:46
l Jenny - 2:26:53
l Tomson - 2:48:11

Also on World Autism
Acceptance Day, a runner
completed a marathon
challenge after being
inspired during a visit
to Prior's Court and
seeing our work first
hand.
Rachel Clements, who
completed her Brighton
Marathon on the same
day as the London
Landmarks, volunteered
at Prior's Court with her
company SimplyHealth. After
seeing the amazing work done
for young people with complex
autism, she chose to run the
Brighton Marathon fundraising for
Prior's Court.
Rachel completed the marathon
in a time of 5hr 55mins, but
finishing the event was the main
achievement - in the lead-up
training, Rachel damaged tendons
in her ankle and her participation
was in doubt.
But Rachel defied the pain to take
on the challenge and, in doing so,
raised more than £1,000 for Prior's
Court - hugely surpassing her
target of £300.
