Three intrepid Prior's Court staff take on Inflatable 5K
Mike goes out with a bang
Prior's Court's outgoing
Chief Executive Officer
was joined by some of
our young people to
finish an epic fundraising
challenge.
Across four days and 60 miles
in June, Mike Robinson walked
along the Kennet & Avon Canal
from Bath to Newbury, all in aid
of Prior's Court's Performing Arts
Centre appeal.
The walk was Mike's farewell
after eight years as our CEO,
with him stepping down in
July.
Fittingly, late on the last day
of the challenge, a group
of young people and staff
members cheered Mike past
the finish line in Victoria Park,
Newbury.
Mike smashed his fundraising
target of £5,000, some of which
was donated by people he met
along the way.
Mike said: "I do enjoy a good
walk but the scale of this
challenge was something else
and in humid, sticky weather
too.
"But what kept me going was
the incredible young people at
Prior's Court, their families and
our wonderful staff members -
thinking about these amazing
people and receiving supportive
messages along the way gave
me a boost when I needed them
most.
"Being Chief Executive of
Prior's Court has been the most
rewarding job of my career and
this challenge, and in particular
finishing it alongside an incredible
group of young people, truly
topped it off."
A leaving party for Mike was
held in July on-site, featuring a
performance by the Prior's Court
Band, gift-giving and plenty of
cake.
A terrific trio
from Prior's Court
bounced their
way to fundraising
success.
Clemence Muller,
Natasha Barrett and
Elizabeth Keighley from
our on-site Learning
& Development team
took on an inflatable
5k challenge in
Southampton in July,
raising an incredible £425
including Gift Aid for
Prior's Court.
The trio battled rain,
thunderstorms and
very slippery inflatable
obstacles to complete the
course.
