An inspiring group of our
young people completed
a 5k challenge as they
attended a festival of
inclusivity.
At the start of July, a group of 14
of our young people, aged 11 to
25, attended Parallel Windsor
- a series of challenge events
designed for people with a range
of disabilities operating alongside
a festival of music, performance
and more in historic Windsor Great
Park.
Young people Amar, Ben, Brandon,
Daniel A, Daniel K, Daniel L, Felix,
Jack, James, Luca, Millie, Peter,
Tashelle and Theo all took part
in the 5k challenge at the event,
being sponsored to do in aid
of Prior's Court's Let Me Shine
Performing Arts Centre appeal.
The young people were supported
to take part in the challenge events
and explore the festival itself by a
group of staff members.
Our young people raised more
than £2,000.
Chris McQuilkin, our Learning
Facilitator for Healthiness, said:
"Parallel Windsor was an incredible
experience for this group of young
people to be a part of - to be able
to join in a fun, interactive event in
the community."
Natalie Norris, Prior's Court's
Fundraising Manager, said: "Other
young people supported by other
charities can show their support for
the help the charity provides them
and by taking part in an accessible
event full of acceptance and
awareness of neurodivergence,
our young people had the
opportunity to do so which is just
brilliant."

Young people
race to success
Summer of volunteering
Between May and August,
we have had a total of
13 volunteering groups
who contributed a total
of around 1,000 hours to
helping keep our grounds
safe and functional for our
young people.
Among others:
l A team from BNP Paribas
helped to clear our Courtyard
garden, and cleared an area by our
polytunnels in preparation for the
planting of a sensory garden. Both
will add functionality around site
and provide nicer places for both
young people and staff
to relax.
l A small group from
Cisco cleared one of
our house gardens in
preparation for new
young people moving in.
l A group from Visa,
including Ferial, mum to Prior's
Court young person Sebby, cleared
our Lodge building, which means
it is once again a nice space for
staff to use if they ever need an
overnight place to stay.
A huge thank you goes out to
all our volunteers, who help our
on-site teams with managing our
50-acre site.
