Sadly it is that time of year
again in which we have to
say goodbye to some of
our young adults.
Ricardo, Orlando, and Lara have all
moved on to their next placement
and while we will all miss them
at Prior's Court, we have every
confidence that they will flourish
in their new homes.
The first to leave was Lara, who
departed Prior's Court back in
June after 11 years with us. For
more than a decade Lara has
been a familiar face here with her
singing, dancing, and contagious
joy. Lara has moved to her own
bungalow which has been
specially adapted for her.
The next to depart was Orlando,
who spent the last 11 years
bringing the 'cool' to Prior's
Court in his rockstar sunglasses,
spending his time living in Palmer
House before moving up to Robin
Cottage in his later years. Orlando
is moving to Ravenswood Village
near Bracknell.
Finally, it was time for Ricardo to
leave. In his time here, Ricardo
became a staple around site,
not only through his paid work
experience with our estates team
but also through his legendary
skills in the bakery. Ricardo's
boundless energy and love of
music festivals (especially those
where he can unleash his iconic
dance moves) made him a joy to
be around, and after a difficult
first few years at Prior's Court,
he flourished into a young man
capable of anything.
We are all incredibly proud of our
young adults, and all have left
having gained the skills needed to
thrive in their new placements.
Saying goodbye to our young adults
At the beginning of
August, Prior's Court
held its annual sports
day, featuring races,
football, basketball,
bouncy inflatables,
archery, and much
more.
The day, one of the
favourites in our calendar,
was thoroughly enjoyed by
young people, their families
and staff members.
Sports Day fun
for everyone
