A huge thank you to everyone who
supported our Christmas Appeal over the
festive period.
In the Christmas appeal, everyone who donated
lit up a star on our virtual Christmas trees, with
their accompanying message also added to a real
Christmas tree in our Reception.
Between this and a raffle held on-site for staff and
parents to win a hamper of goodies, more than
£1,100 was raised.
This will go towards our Performing Arts Centre
appeal which will transform our existing on-site arts
facility into a state-of-the-art centre. See the front
page of this newsletter for more information about
the appeal.
Our Fundraising Manager Natalie Norris said:
"Thank you to everyone who donated, purchased
raffle tickets, shared our posts on social media and
told friends and family
about the Christmas
Appeal. Seeing
the virtual trees
sparkling
away was
really
magical
and the
wonderful
messages
displayed on
the Christmas
Tree in reception
were enjoyed by many
across the
site. We were
blown away by
the incredible
amount raised,
your kindness
means so much
and it brings
us closer to the
total needed
for the new
Performing Arts
Centre."
As well as the festive appeal, we celebrated
Christmas with our young people by having
Christmas dinners, a disco for our young adults, and
a visit from two adorable reindeer.
The brother of one of our young people went
the extra mile in a fundraising effort, raising
more than £5,000.
Ethan Tury, whose brother James lives at Prior's Court
and a group of his friends and cousins took part in the Lee
Valley Velopark 5km fun run.
Ethan and his group raised more than
£5,500 in sponsorship for their efforts.
James is on a 52-week placement meaning
he has moved away from the family home
to attend Prior's Court to receive highlyspecialised support
from autism specialists.
When asked why he chose to support Prior's
Court in his fundraiser, Ethan said: "As you
can imagine my younger brother moving
away from home [was] extremely difficult
for me but I really want to do something
positive to help him and the school."
