Playing host to a star of the small screen
Businesses backing our work in 2024
Four terrific
businesses are
supporting young
people with complex
autism with their
fundraising efforts
this year.
A massive thank you to
Charles Hunter Associates,
Carney Sweeney, Sophos
and the Hungerford
Branch of Newbury
Building Society who have
chosen to support Prior's
Court as their Charity of the Year in 2024.
Carney Sweeney, a fully independent town planning
consultancy, launched its fundraising efforts for 2024
early, with a sponsored Christmas Jumper Day held
at the end of 2023. The charity is close to the heart of
one of the directors at Carney Sweeney, who has a
child who lives and learns at Prior's Court.
The Hungerford branch of Newbury Building Society
has been a long-time supporter of Prior's Court,
getting involved in fundraisers and helping out at
events where they can. Representatives from the
branch visited Prior's Court just before Christmas,
pictured, to present a cheque for £4,297.37.
Charles Hunter Associates, a specialist recruitment
agency based in Reading operating within the social
care and social work sectors, said about supporting
Prior's Court: "Our business has worked closely
with Prior's Court for many years and seeing the
incredible work done on-site inspired our staff to vote
for them as our Charity of the Year."
And, just as we went to print, cybersecurity firm
Sophos came on board as a Charity of the Year
partner.
A small-screen investigator took a break
from crime scenes to investigate what we
do here at Prior's Court.
Acclaimed actress Suranne Jones paid a visit to Prior's
Court in November, joined by our founder Dame
Stephanie Shirley, who took her on a tour of our
site where she met many
of our wonderful young
people and staff.
This included some
lovely interactions with
young people including
Felix in the bakery and
sitting down with Amar,
Daniel and Joe in the
dining room.

people with complex autism at Prior's Court.
