There have been some fantastic
achievements for young people
at Prior's Court over the past
months.
Firstly, Joe and William, from Millington
House, went to The Cutting Bar in
Newbury for their first haircuts in a
long time. For 13-year-old William, this
is the first time he had stepped foot in
a barbershop since he was seven years
old. Meanwhile Joe, who is also 13, had
not been a barbershop since he was two.
Elsewhere, Daniel L, who is 16 years old and
from Fleming House, was also supported
to go to the barbers for the first time ever.
Stan, from Shirley House, was invited
to the Herts Awards 2023 run by
Hertfordshire County Council and held at
the world-famous Harry Potter Studios.
Stan received an
award at the end of
the visit, for "adapting
well to routine in
his placement and
making positive
relationships". While
he was there, Stan
got into the Harry
Potter spirit, wearing
a Hogwarts-style cape,
sitting on a broomstick, and
having a wand lesson.
Lastly, Taran, who lives in one of
our Young Adult Provision homes
went for a meal at the Nawab Indian
Restaurant in Thatcham, which marked
his first time out at a restaurant since his
move to Bradbury Cottages earlier in 2023.
