Over the last couple of
months, we have had to
say goodbye to two of our
wonderful young people
as they move on to their
new placements.
The first young person to leave us
in October was Tashelle. Tashelle
had been with us since 2012, first
as a day student and then joining
us residentially in 2019. Tashelle
was known around site for her
infectious smile, her sense of
style and very strong opinions on
colours, and most of all her love of
fish and chips Friday!
Tashelle is thriving in her new
placement, even sending a
box of chocolates to every staff
member who had supported
her throughout her time with us
which was a lovely surprise.
In October we also said goodbye
to Ben, who was one of the most
well-known faces around site. Ben
joined us in 2007 as a nine-yearold and
has cemented himself as
one of the most familiar faces of
Prior's Court.
He could often be seen
meandering around
site and working
in the Countryside
Learning Centre or
determinedly sticking
to his treadmill routine.
Ben has taken part in
a number of activities
on site as well as off
site, including running
(well, walking!) the
5k race at Parallel
Windsor last year!

Spreading our knowledge across the world
A group of visitors from Singapore
came to Prior's Court as part of a factfinding
visit to the UK about autism best
practice.
A delegation from the St Andrew's Autism Centre
in Singapore were taken on a tour around our site
to learn more about what we do here, as well as
meeting some of the young people we support.
Stop-offs on the tour included our purpose-built
residential homes The Seasons to see how they
were built with autism in mind, as well as our bakery
to learn about teaching vocational skills to young
people with complex autism.
Gifts were also exchanged at the end of the day and
the group from St Andrew's Autism Centre were kind
enough to bring some traditional gifts for our staff.
This follows on from other visits to Prior's Court from
delegations from China, India and Saudi Arabia in
recent years.
A sad goodbye to some familiar
faces around Prior's Court
