The NGS Working Party - Report
So you gave up times of leisure?
To find a new and current measure
Of skill and acumen at Bridge
Yes, we did, on average!
What we hope we will provide
Is a dynamic playing guide
It will apply to one and all
Using grades that rise or fall
A grade may run from Ace to Two
And changing it is up to you
Not all can be Ace, King or Queen
But, for most, there is the dream
Your lifetime record is your rank
- how many points are in the bank!
A grade will give an indication
Where e're you play, throughout the Nation.
What of one's achievements great?
How should these be given rate?
Let those highs not be forgotten
Unlike when you get a bottom!!
The Gold scheme lets us rank the best
But other scales could weigh the rest
Silver, Bronze, plain Green or Black
For 'runners-up' and 'in-the-pack'
So no matter who you are
Improver, Master, Superstar
Watch your progress, score your highs
So that interest never dies.
