No service will be provided unless it is required to meet the needs of the young
person and/or specified in the Education Health & Care Plan or agreed and funded by
the Local Authority through a revised contract.
Contract/Fees
Contractually, all pupils will receive a range of support requirements. Additional
reasonable services will be provided to enable Prior's Court School to meet specific
individual needs as specified in the Education Health and Care Plan or agreed by the
Local Authority following the School's pre-placement assessment. These services will
be confirmed prior to the contract being issued.
Pupils may have additional needs that might be met by the School Nurses. Pupils, on
admission to the School, will be registered with a local GP. They will be supported to
have their medical needs met through community facilities. Support to attend medical
appointments local to the School is provided free of charge. However support and
expenses to enable students' attendance for non-emergency medical appointments
(eg Consultants) not local to the School may incur charges for transport and additional
staff. This is to be agreed between the Placing Authority & Local Health Authority.
Incontinence supplies/support must remain the responsibility of the Placing Authority.
Complex medical procedures that require additional support and training to nonmedical staff will be considered through a joint meeting between the Head of Care
and appropriate medical professionals. There is a tier system for allocating the
additional costings required to support high health needs.
Highly specialised dietary needs can be supported but may require additional funding.
Dietetic support must remain the responsibility of the Placing Authority.
Fees should be paid monthly or termly and invoiced to one funding provider only.
Acceptance of the placement at Prior's Court is an agreement to an annual fee
increase yearly on the 1st September.
Post Confirmation of Placement/Provision
All pupils will be provided with a broad and balanced education, a modified National
Curriculum and a programme of learning throughout their waking day as outlined in
