Changes in the Care structure at Prior's Court.
Prior's Court has been going through a period of structural and cultural change,
through a process we have called Creating Our Future.
Within the management of the children's homes the following structure is
proposed:
Prior's Court is unusual in its statutory registration, as it is registered as one
children's home dually registered as a special school. There are in fact 12 children's
homes, accommodating up to 67 children. As such the single registered manager
role for such a large and complex organisation needed to be reviewed.
The regulations require registered managers to have day to day oversight and
management of the home. As we have grown significantly, this has become
increasingly difficult for one person, a fact that has been pointed out by many
Ofsted inspectors in previous inspections. Therefore, we decided to share the
Registered Manager post between two highly skilled and knowledgeable
individuals, Lisa Pothecary and Matt Phelps. They have worked together for over 4
years and are professional, collaborative and supportive of each other.
I have no doubt that this working relationship will continue but should there be a
professional difference of opinion that cannot be resolved then they have the
support of their manager, Natalie Boothroyd, who is known to Ofsted, CQC and
