Container ship
breaks in half
Was uneven loading to blame?
The loading of the containers on board may
have exacerbated the situation. Although
the loading of the containers appeared
to be even in the published photographs
by MRCC Mumbai, uneven distribution of
container weights and erroneous loading
could be a very important factor in the
break up of the MOL Comfort.
The IACS Council will be meeting next week
to discuss this and other important matters
facing the maritime industry.
