INVITATION
Background
In November 2019 and January 2020 we hosted two Research Stakeholder (Networking)
Events. The outcome of these events was the establishment of the Core Group Building a
Research Community. (Membership Organisations attached). Since that time we
progressed the research agenda for social work and social care inclusive of the Research
Strategy (Research Strategy 2020-25 - Research Strategy 2020-25 (pagetiger.com)) and
Implementation Plan (Implementation Plan - 1 (pagetiger.com)). Both were launched March 2021.
To maximise ownership, this agenda from its outset was is centred on collaboration,
partnership and engagement. In accordance with the implementation plan a number of
formal meetings and taken place with the Core Group to agree and progress various
actions.
The core group has agreed that there is an ongoing need to keep the research agenda
visible within and between organisations. We currently achieve this through our annual
research conference (proposed date for 2022 is Wednesday 9th March put a hold in
your diary now ) and regular newsletters.
Implementation plans are essential as part of the process in order to keep a check on
progress, outcomes and impact. Equally important is the need for more engagement,
networking and information sharing. There is a need for the Building a Research Network to
be seen and heard within Membership Organisations beyond Core Group Members.
It addition we want to keep the membership under review and identify potential new
members.
To this end we are hosting this Networking Event !!
