Opportunities are identified for projects and work placements both on-site and
off-site to support and, depending on the young person's abilities and interests,
may include:
• animal husbandry in the on-site, outdoor Countryside Learning Centre
where young people care for animals.
• horticulture in the kitchen garden, polytunnel, greenhouse and orchard;
cultivation of seeds and plants in the vegetable beds and outdoor
workshop; gardening and groundswork at local off-site work placements.
• business studies such as customer service and stock control
• baking, health and safety, customer service and food hygiene in our onsite,
purpose-built bakery (Bread & Beyond).
On-site and off-site work placements are developed with local and national
companies to support genuine, supported vocational opportunities for the young
people. The ultimate aim is for young people to secure a form of paid work.
