Emily is reading a postcard from her cousin.
Merry Christmas, Emily!
It is now summer in Australia. December, January
and February are the summer months here. This is
my first hot Christmas. Let me tell you about my
plans.
My parents and I are going to the beach on
Christmas Day. We want to build a big 'snowman'
with sand. We can buy a lot of things to eat
from the food stalls there. We can eat ice cream,
ice lollies and shaved ice. It is also nice to drink
a smoothie. At night, we can have a barbecue at
Uncle Phil's garden.
I know it is cold in Hong Kong now. Do you still
go to the country park and go hiking with your
parents every Sunday? Do you often have hotpot
for dinner? I know you like swimming. It is now
too cold to swim in the sea, but you can swim in
the indoor swimming pool.
I hope you can come and visit us soon. We can
visit fruit farms and pick blueberries together!
