Versace cements the Virtus handbag as an iconic
brand signature with a dedicated campaign, lensed
by legendary photographic duo Mert & Marcus and
starring supermodel Bella Hadid.
Reminiscent of the brand's '90s-era imagery, the
photographs present Bella in all-black looks from
the Fall-Winter 2021 Collection. She carries Virtus
shoulder bags and the Virtus tote bag, all featuring
V-shaped quilting that mimics the design's Barocco V
hardware.
The Virtus handbag debuted on the Fall-Winter 2019
runway and takes it name from the Roman deity,
symbolizing strength, courage, and character. A bold
symbol of the brand's aesthetic heritage, the central
gold-tone Barocco V characterizes the bag. The Virtus
comes in many variations: as a tote, top handle, belt,
shoulder or evening bag. Crafted in Italy from supple
calf leather, the Virtus is designed in a variety of colors
and finishes.
