I do love a good frolic! When in my field last week, I felt a sharp pain in my hoof at
about the same time a rusty nail, which had fallen off the fencing, disappeared into the
soil. I quickly forgot about my sore foot as I found some nice brambles in the hedge to
eat, but as the days went on my human did not have time to pick out my hoof when
she should have done and the small cut closed up and was quickly covered in mud.
However, the lurking bacterial infection that had entered my body via this small cut
was starting to grow and move into my bloodstream. It was odd because as the days
went on I did not feel like my normal self; my frolic was becoming more difficult as I
felt very stiff and my eyesight seemed to have become worse.
My human came to give me my breakfast today and seemed to be making a lot of
noise which made me jump and panic but I couldn't run away, in fact I fell down with
my food still stuck in my mouth. Help me, I can't breathe, I can't chew, help me.
