ROSS
We're also pleased Optivo takes resident
involvement seriously - and proactively
gets residents working alongside staff.
This One Team approach helps Optivo to
become more efficient in delivering
services and value for money that will
ultimately benefit residents. You can find
out more about our resident governance
structure on page XX.
Representing your voice in the housing
debate
We're proud Optivo residents have also
had a prominent voice within the wider
social housing sector. Last winter the
government consulted with social housing
tenants across the country through a
series of events, taking on board their
views to draft a social housing Green Paper.
It's testament to Optivo's standing and
reputation that we were asked to host one
of these events in Kent - enabling some of
our residents to give their views on social
housing to the then Housing Minister, Alok
Sharma.
Following the Grenfell tragedy, residents
clearly made their voices heard about fire
safety and from this we saw the publication
of the Dame Judith Hackitt review earlier
this year. The RSG, too, decided to carry
out their first scrutiny project and asked
our resident Scrutiny Panel to look into
Optivo's own communication around fire
safety to make our residents feel safe in
their homes. The report is due out later
this year.
Our residents have also played a strong
part in the Benefit to Society campaign,
aimed at tackling negative social housing
stereotypes.
As we hope you'll see from this annual
review, having our residents and staff work
together ensures your voice is heard and
that Optivo delivers.
