The Broadgate Estates CYCLE TO MIPIM 2014 launch sees more than 100
senior level property professionals come together at The Foundling Museum
Get to the largest property conference on two wheels, network along the way and ride like a
professional in a fully supported peloton
CYCLE TO…, London, 3rd October 2013 – In March next year the largest international property
conference will once again be held in Cannes and for the ninth year. Over 90 senior property
professionals will arrive under their own steam and on two wheels for its start, having cycled over
1,500kms. On 25th September, CYCLE TO… launched the ninth edition of the Broadgate Estates CYCLE
TO MIPIM, a six day ride taking place on 5th to 11th March 2014. Over 120 senior level property
professionals, from architects to developers to planners, attended the launch at Coram’s Foundling
Museum. Many had ridden the event before, giving them the chance to catch-up with old cycling
friends and those new to the event got a feel for what the 1,500km ride has in store. There are
90 places on the event and all riders will be raising money for CYCLE TO…’s charity partners, including
Coram, the UK’s first children’s charity that helps vulnerable children in care find safe, loving and
permanent homes with a family who can provide them with the support and love they need. To
register, please email info@cycle-to.org.
The Foundling Museum was the perfect venue, providing an insight into the history of Coram with
various artefacts and paintings. During the evening, guests heard from Nick Hanmer, Chief Executive
of Cycle To…, David Steadman, Commercial Director of Coram, and Steve Whyman, Managing
Director of Broadgate Estates. Broadgate Estates will be the title sponsor for the second year
running. During his presentation, Steve Whyman said: “We’re proud to be a sponsor for the second
year running. Next year will be my fourth time riding the event and it’s well worth doing. CYCLE TO
MIPIM is a great way to get to the conference and it’s a great way to raise important sponsorship
money.”
Steve continued: “Coram is a worthy charity to raise money for – they do incredibly valuable work.
The ride itself is very well organised. I’ve completed a number of rides and this exceeds all the
others. The support crew, the organisation, the people you get to ride with; it has all the ingredients
for an unforgettable experience. And it mixes fundraising, with networking, with enjoyable group
riding.”
David Steadman of Coram shared a moving story about one of the thousands of children Coram
helps each year. He presented some facts on children in care and explained that many are moved
multiple times before their first birthday; a rather unsettling fact and one that can significantly
hinder a child emotionally. By taking part in CYCLE TO MIPIM the audience was reminded that they
would be helping vulnerable children across the country. More specifically the money raised will go
towards helping provide 10 children living in care with new adoptive parents, 30 adopted children
and their families will receive lifetime support from Coram and 10,000 children will be helped to
make healthier life choices through Coram Life Education.
Nick Hanmer provided details on the history and logistics of the event. The ride started back in 2006
with 16 riders. It’s now grown to become a successful annual fundraising event in the property
