Château Recougne is an early-17th-century estate located around
10km north of Libourne, and is among the most well established of
Bordeaux Supérieur properties. Plenty of fine-grained tannins
providing prodigious grip and savoury texture.
Rioja Reserva 2008 Lagunilla, Spain £18 £23 £27 £58.94
This famous Rioja bodega was founded in 1885 by Don Felipe Lagunilla
San Martín. A classic Reserva wine, striking a balance between
meatiness and elegance. 24 months in oak casks has endowed it with
an enjoyable smoothness and mellow, spicy aromatics.
Château Grivière 2007 Médoc, Cru Bourgeois, Bordeaux £21 £26 £30 £70.94
This lovely cru bourgeois is unusual in that it is a Merlot-based blend
from the Médoc, where Cabernet normally dominates the proceedings.
Offering a soft and jammy fruit character, with subtle notes of damp
earth and orange peel on the nose and a supple palate.
Château Chantalouette 2007 Pomerol, Bordeaux £25 £30 £34 £100.94
A bright and inviting claret, with a nose of ripe black fruit and subtle
hints of earth and forest floor. The mouth-feel is round and supple, yet
enduring and possessing a pleasing complexity.
Rioja Selection Especial Reserva 2009 Muga, Spain £30 £35 £39 £131.00
Muga were founded by Isaac Muga Martínez and his wife, Auro Caño in
1932, in Haro, at the western end of Rioja Alta. The best grapes are
selected for the Especial blend, and aged for 6 months in large vats,
before 30 months in small oak barrels, and a further year in bottle.

An opulent and famous wine from Bordeaux’s renowned Pomerol
appellation. With an aromatic nose of raspberries, cherries, smoke
and espresso, the palate is rich and opulent with loads of fruit and a
plush texture.

"Grapy, richly fruity, medium-bodied flavors of cocoa, white chocolate,
spicy herbs, and black currants jump from the glass of this deliciously
evolved, complex wine. It is a soft, easy-going St.-Julien to consume

"An excellent effort from Domaine de Chevalier, this dark ruby/purple-
colored 1998 exhibits smoky, tobacco-tinged, earthy scents intermixed
with black currant and cherry fruit. There is impressive concentration,
medium body, sweet tannin, and a supple, ripe finish." 87-89 points.

Pavillon Rouge is the second wine of Château Margaux, one of
Bordeaux’s prestigious first growth. 1995 was a superb vintage in the
