Savage attacks on ginger cat
The RSPCA's National Control Centre received an emergency call
about a young ginger cat, called Prince, who had been savagely
beaten by his owner in an appalling act of cruelty.
A witness to the attack had gone to hospital,
as she too had been assaulted by the man.
RSPCA Inspector Keira Benham found
Prince very lethargic and subdued. He was
whimpering and crying out in pain and
soaked with water. She rushed him to a
nearby veterinary practice, where he was
found to have an open fracture of his left
hind leg, bloodshot eyes, two fractured teeth
and cuts to his lips and gums. X-rays also
found four rib fractures dating back at least
three to four weeks.
Prince's broken leg had to be amputated and
his fractured teeth and badly-damaged right
eye had to be removed.
When Inspector Benham visited him a
few days later he was brighter, more mobile,
and surprisingly affectionate despite his
ordeal. She said: "The fact that someone
can take an innocent, defenceless animal
and inflict such pain and suffering on him is
totally beyond me."
LINK DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
