CELEBRATIONS
NEW YEAR'S DAY
New Year's Day marks the beginning of the new year - a fresh start. Most New Year's festivities begin on December
31st (New Year's Eve), the last day of the Gregorian calendar, and continue into the early hours of January 1st (New
Year's Day). Common traditions include attending parties, eating special New Year's foods, making resolutions for the
new year, and watching fireworks displays.

I usually start the last day of the year with writing
down all my resolutions and affirmations for the
new year. I think the sentence that is repeated
every year is to enjoy every moment and to do what
makes me happy!
It was a special moment, celebrating with our
neighbors, sharing food, funny stories, and jokes.
Some of the typical dishes are tortellini in broth,
lentils and cotechino, which symbolize wealth and
good fortune for the coming year.
"New Years for me has always been a time for
reflection. I love looking back at the past year with
all the accomplishments, obstacles, small moments,
and trying times, as it allows me to really appreciate
the person I am beginning to shape into.
