DISABILITY
AWARENESS DAY
"Disability Awareness Day on July 14 is the world's largest
not-for-profit, voluntary-led observance that celebrates
diversity and the contributions of people who are differently
abled. The goal for this day is to encourage others to gain a
better understanding of people with disabilities and promote
inclusivity". In the US, Americans with Disabilities Act
(ADA) Awareness Day will celebrate its 31st anniversary
on July 26th. In the UK, Disability Awareness Day (DAD)
(U.K.) is generally celebrated in July but due to the global
pandemic, the 30th anniversary of the event will be
celebrated instead on September 12th, 2021. There are
numerous other celebrations specific to a specific disability
and the following are just a few examples: Rheumatoid
Arthritis Awareness Day (February 2nd, US), Cystic
Fibrosis Awareness Month (March in the US), World
Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Day (May 30, Global),
Disability Awareness Day (September 5, UK), World
Cerebral Palsy Awareness Day (October 6, Global)

BELGIUM
NATIONAL DAY
''This day means independency, decades ago on July 21st
we got our first king in Belgium and became an individual
country. On this day I make myself aware that I am
fortunate to be born and raised in Belgium. For me this day
is a special day to celebrate that we have lots of delicious
food and drinks to be proud of. Normally I celebrate this day
with my loved ones, we have a nice beer (Stelle Artois) with
some good Belgian fries and finish with some chocolates.''
