GERMANY
UNITY DAY
Germany Unity Day commemorates German
reunification in 1990 when the Federal Republic
of Germany (West Germany) and the German
Democratic Republic (East Germany) were
unified, so that for the first time since 1945
there existed a single German state. German
Unity Day on October 3rd has been the
German National Holiday since 1990, when the
reunification was formally completed.

CHINA
NATIONAL DAY
October 1st is the National Day of China, which
is a public holiday for the whole country. It's an
important day that marks the beginning of PRC.
On that day, there are plenty of celebrations
held throughout the country, from the central
government to the general people, and public
places, including big squares and parks
decorated in festive theme.
The legal holiday for Chinese National Day is 3
days in mainland China, 2 days in Macau and 1
day in Hong Kong. In mainland, the 3 days are
usually connected with the weekends ahead
and after, hence people can enjoy a 7-day
holiday from October 1st to 7th, which is the socalled "Golden Week."
With the improvement
of living standards, people have more money
and desire to travel, and Golden Week is a
great opportunity for them to do so. For those
people who prefer not to go out, it's a good
time to have a rest and spend time with family.
Therefore, the national day means a lot to the
Chinese.
NATIONAL
FOUNDATION DAY (KR)
NATIONAL COMING
OUT DAY (U.S.)
National Foundation Day, or Gaecheonjeol, is
a holiday celebrating the formation of the first
Korean state of Gojoseon in 2333 BC. This date
has traditionally been regarded as the date
marking the beginning of the Korean society
and way of life. Like many holidays around the
world, National Foundation Day is celebrated
with huge displays of fireworks throughout the
country. Every year, large crowds of Korean
people gather in the park or on the banks of
the river opposite to watch the fireworks. In
Seoul, it takes place in Yeouido Han River Park
and is very popular.
National Coming Out Day (NCOD) is an annual
LGBT awareness day observed on October
11th, to support the LGBTQ+ community. This
year will mark the 32nd anniversary of National
Coming Out Day. Thirty-two years ago, on
the anniversary of the National March on
Washington for Lesbian and Gay Rights, we
first observed National Coming Out Day as a
reminder of the power of coming out. Coming
out - whether it is as lesbian, gay, bisexual,
transgender, queer, +, it still matters.
