•Community inclusion
The development of skills for each
individual to successfully participate
within the local community is a key
focus. To support the individual's
development, the community is
accessed regularly in a range of
ways including the use of local
facilities such as shops, banks,
places of worship, cafes; the use of
leisure facilities; and vocational
opportunities in a variety of off-site work placements.
•Transition planning
Developing skills which will support each young adult for life beyond Prior's Court
is the aim of the learning at the Young Adult Provision. In addition to building
core skills such as communication, self-care and daily living skills, by the time
each individual leaves at the age of 25, we will have supported them in
developing the skills they need to access and be part of a local community. We
work closely with parents and professionals from their future adult placement to
ensure that transition is as successful as possible.

The location of the homes brings within easy reach a wide range of leisure
