Pioneering Technical and Professional Education
Since our creation in 2010, City of Glasgow
College is proud to have enabled over 100,000
graduates acquire recognised qualifications,
and to have engaged with employers, business,
industry and education partners to build a
curriculum of over 1,200 courses across four
faculties.
Flagship colleges like ours provide multiple
pathways into the world of work. Our appeal
and effectiveness is in being a professional and
technical skills college for our times. Strong
working relationships forged across numerous
sectors benefit not only our students, but also our
business and industry partners.
The 2020 Cumberford-Little Report, which I
co-authored, influences government policy, and
provides a blueprint for the future of colleges in
Scotland. It highlights our agile and adaptable
sector as uniquely placed to enable and
encourage social mobility, identify skills needs,
and supply a talented labour pipeline.
As we continue to face the challenges of the
Coronavirus pandemic we remain focused on
ensuring our students prosper, and on providing
the skilled workforce essential for longer-term
economic recovery and growth. By delivering £1.6
billion into the Scottish economy each year, our
College is certainly doing its bit.
