Prestigious History
Our college's heritage can be traced as far back
as 1927 with the establishment of Glasgow's first
College of Building. An associated legacy dates
back to 1853 when independent boys' school,
Allan Glen's, was built on the site where our
architecturally award-winning City campus now
sits.
In 2019 we celebrated 50 years of delivering
nautical and marine engineering education and
training on the banks of the River Clyde. In 2020,
we marked our tenth anniversary as Scotland's
Super College.
Our merger in 2010 combined the richness and
historic legacy of four specialist colleges across
nautical, commerce, building and printing, and
catering. It concluded a journey that brought
different sites across the city together onto a twin
site super campus, a next generation college,
and which signalled a new era of professional and
technical education.
As we continue to navigate a Covid
world, our Board of Management remain
rightly proud of our college and the role
it plays in shaping the future prospects
of our students.
