"My current work-life balance focuses a lot on planning fun activities, making my
time off feel more intentional and unplugging! Finding time to disconnect from
the news, social media, and television allows me to have more time to spend
outdoors and decompress. Before I made a more intentional step to creating
work-life balance in my life, I would find myself constantly thinking about work
during my time off. I was not properly managing my stress levels and felt like
there was not enough time to destress and rejuvenate. To turn my work-life
challenges into a more balanced lifestyle, I worked to be efficient with my time
at work and planned ahead to avoid meeting deadlines at home rather than at
work. Dividing bigger projects into smaller tasks also helped me meet my goals
without feeling overwhelmed. After doing these things and having found a nice
work-life balance, I hope to spend more time with my puppy and exercise! I
would also love to go to restaurants with friends and family more often."
"Before making a more intentional step to creating work-life balance in my life,
I had very limited time for my family and no time for reflection and strategic
thought. I constantly felt as though I didn't have a proactive approach to
scheduling. To turn my work-life challenges into a more balanced lifestyle,
I tried to be more realistic around workload and looked for efficiencies. I
determined when I have busy periods and tried to plan more to alleviate
pressure. Certain habits and strategies have also positively contributed to my
current work-life balance. I now have a shared calendar with my husband to
ensure we are managing our family responsibilities, I created an exercise plan
that suits my hybrid work schedule, and I have adopted a hybrid work schedule
that suits both my work and family commitments. My work-life balance isn't
perfect yet, but when I do find a balance, it makes me feel calmer and in
control!"
"To better my work-life balance, I try my best to come home at a time that
allows me to devote time to non-work activities like a walk in the centre, a drink
with friends or simply a run in the park. Prior to making an effort to work on
achieving a nice work-life balance, I was not stressing the importance of mental
and physical wellbeing and I wasn't devoting time to my well-being. I plan on
continuing to work on achieving the perfect work-life balance and am very happy
with my continuous dedication to my psychophysical well-being."
