To be
Yourself
is truly a
Revolutionary
WHAT IS SOMETHING THAT MAKES YOU PROUD TO BE A
PART OF THE LGBTQ COMMUNITY?
Because of my sexual orientation, I was discriminated against and attacked
when I was little. I used to be very unconfident and afraid of those people
who knew that I'm gay. When I grew up, I had more and more gay friends
around me. They are full of love, tolerance, humor and good at listening.
Gradually I regained my confidence and enthusiasm and know how to show
myself and passion. Now I can face myself bravely and admit that I am gay.
I still remember that Taiwan wrote her history on May 17, 2019. Taiwan became the first country in Asia to
legalize same-sex marriage. I was waving a rainbow flag in my hand, felling so excited and touched. This is a
milestone for democracy and freedom. Now I am so proud that I am part of the LGBTQ community!

WHAT IS SOMETHING THAT MAKES YOU PROUD TO BE A
PART OF THE LGBTQ COMMUNITY? The community allowed
me to be ME and every person was celebrated- whether they were gay,
bisexual, lesbian or transitioning. Beyond that though, we are a community
who accepts everyone. You do not have to be LGBTQ to belong in our
community because every person matters, and every person is treated with
love and dignity.
HOW HAS YOUR EXPERIENCE IN THE LGBTQ COMMUNITY SHAPED YOU?
I think that every person has a set of core values and those values decide how we treat other people and how
we treat ourselves. The LGBTQ community taught me to love myself. It taught me to love my husband and
our children in that same unconditional way. It taught me to love the people who may not love me, and I
think that's one of the most important lesson someone can learn.
WHAT IS THE BEST PART ABOUT BEING OPENLY OUT AND PROUD AT CAPRI?
My husband, Devin (he's the cute one in the picture), and I married on April 6, 2019 in front of all of our
family and friends. Monday after we were married, I traveled to Foley, Alabama, to start training for my new
role as a Store Manager with Michael Kors I was so excited to tell everyone about what my husband and I
had done the weekend before. Megan, my Training Store Manager showed so much love and excitement for
us! I will never forget her support. The best thing about being LGBTQ, with Capri, is the people who work
here!
