developers and agents are maturing.
As competition intensifies, the
expertise of agents is increasingly
seen as critical to the lease-up
process. Of all Foxtons rental
enquiries for Build to Rent, 39% of
renters signed a lease with a Build to
Rent development outside of their
initial area of enquiry.
The 2021 London Plan recognised Build to Rent as
a residential class. Today, there are around 50,000
Build to Rent homes in the planning process or
under construction across the capital, equivalent
to one in nine (11%) of all private units. They
account for 15% of the pipeline in over half of
London's boroughs, and in five boroughs they make
up more than one in four units.
