Foxtons approach
The Foxtons approach is to always connect
applicants with the correct home for their
needs, irrespective of where they first
come to us. This means actively sharing
information across our network of branches
and investing in new ways to identify the
most appropriate location or home.
Compared to five years ago the
proportion of buyers and renters
registering in North and South London
who went on to choose a property
outside their initial search area has
remained fairly consistent. The biggest
change has been in the East and West,
particularly where ideal property matches
have presented new options to buyers
and renters.
New homes and Build to Rent are
forming an increasingly important part
of the London property market. Last year,
13% of buyer and renters who found their
ideal property outside of their initial
search area moved to a new build or BTR
home. This rose to 16% for those initially
looking in East and West London. The
professionalisation of the industry that
these sectors both characterise is now
being mirrored by landlords, as
demonstrated by the increased usage of
Foxtons Property Management service
throughout 2022.
MOVING LONDON
The expansion of commutable London over the last five years
demonstrates Londoners' willingness to try new places to live. This
shows no signs of abating, as 2022 saw more buyers and renters
than ever secure a property outside of their initial search area. In
fact, two in every five Foxtons buyers and renters moved to a
different location from where they first began their search.
