PAUL LITTLE
Principal & CEO, City of Glasgow College
Paul Little is the founding Principal and CEO of Scotland's
leading college ranked No.1 in the UK for the standard of its
technical and professional skills (WorldSkills). Principal Little has
a global reputation as one of the foremost Thought Leaders and
Change Innovators bringing a wealth of experience in Tertiary
Sector transformation, redefinition, curriculum innovation and
performance excellence. A graduate of Harvard Business School
and distinguished academic, he has successfully aligned his 30-
year career with his duties working part-time with HM coastguard
for which he was decorated three times by HM The Queen. He
also completed three tours of duty with US Coastguard and is
an Honorary Member (Fifth District). Principal Little was the first
College Principal to become a Fellow of The Nautical Institute. He
is the proud recipient of Glasgow's Inspiring City Legacy Award
and currently chairs the MNTB Futures Working Group.
MARK STAGG
Dean - Faculty of Nautical and STEM, City of Glasgow College
Growing up in Crieff, Mark started his working life as a Deck
Officer with Harrisons (Clyde) Ltd studying at Leith Nautical
College and South Shields Marine and Technical college.
Graduating in adult education, Mark became the Head of
Learning and Development for the Maritime and Coastguard
Agency and oversaw the design and implementation of
accredited programmes for both ship survey and inspection and
search and rescue professionals.
Leaving the MCA after 20 years, He worked in a number of
roles within the public and commercial sectors dedicated to the
learning and development of people focussing on the critical
human factors within organisational culture.
Returning to the MCA for four years as Head of Organisational
Development Mark led the Coastguard Modernisation Programme.
Prior to taking up the post of Dean at City of Glasgow College,
Mark spent 2 years as Director of Transformation for a large Fire
and Rescue Service working with an expert advisory panel on
cultural change.
In his current role he is committed to developing the next
generations that will keep Scotland and the UK at the forefront of
the maritime and STEM sectors.
