4 READER'S LETTERS & CRUISE NEWS
Fantastic feedback for our Cruise experts
Dear Derren
Thank you very much for a fantastic
holiday, everything ran smoothly, we
had some anticipation that there would
be problems between ships and hotels,
hotels and trains but there were none.
The Emerald Princess cruise to Fort
Lauderdale via France, Spain, Portugal,
the Azores and Bermuda was wonderful,
and although more in line with
American tastes the service and food
quality was high.
Registration at hotels was easy we
only had to give our names to identify
ourselves. Our allocated rooms/suites
at Fort Lauderdale and Charleston were
first class. We were lucky at Charleston
and enjoyed an upgrade to their Club
Class. The Wyndam New Yorker
was perhaps a disappointment when
compared to the
other hotels as the rooms were smaller
and the bathrooms a little tired.
The journeys on the train were a
memorable adventure (for softies),
the included food, breakfast, lunch
and dinner on the train were great
the sleeping arrangements although
tight for space were comfortable and
adequate for our needs. As in the hotels
our vouchers were readily identified and
accepted.
The icing on the cake was that our
balcony stateroom on the Queen
Mary 2, the final leg from New York
to Southampton was upgraded to a
Princess Grill Suite, superb! Although it
means that future passages will have to
be Princess Grill.
Once again thank you for guiding us
through the complete holiday package,
you maintained your patience with two
first time cruisers travelling to and in
the USA , your knowledge and advice
was first rate which enabled us to enjoy
a holiday to remember without any
mishaps.
Please keep in touch and advise any
similar holidays you may be planning
next year!
With warm regards

Undoubtedly many of our readers
will remember that magnificent folk
rock group from the 1970s, Crosby,
Stills & Nash. Who can forget their
first album, which was released in
1969? If anyone thought the group
was no longer around, think again.
The original members are alive
and well and will be performing
on board Queen Mary 2 when she
sails from New York to London in
September this year. The Grammy
Award-winning band, which made
its debut at the Woodstock Festival
in August 1969, will appear in three
performances during the eight-day
journey that leaves New York on
4th September 2015. During these
three concerts in the ship's Royal
Court Theatre the band will perform

a couple of its greatest hits, including
unforgettable songs such as "Wooden
Ships", "Southern Cross" and "Teach
Your Children". There will also be a
questions and answers session and
a chance to get the band members'
autographs. Graham Nash said: "This
will be a unique experience for us.
We're really looking forward to making
music, bringing back memories and
creating new ones? And this journey
from New York to Southampton, on
this beautiful vessel, will do just that."
Cunard North America president
Richard Meadows said the cruise line
was very excited to welcome the band
on board this memorable journey,
which takes place during Cunard's
175th birthday celebrations. He added
that Crosby, Stills & Nash's presence
on board Queen Mary 2 shows that
his company remains committed to
offering its guests access to some of
the most legendary artists of all time.
