King's College
What part of the States did you live in?
I lived on the east coast on, in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
How long were you in the States?
Just over three years.
What were the best things about the States?
Definitely the weather, and being walking distance from the ocean.
It was so nice to be able to come away from school and be in a
completely different environment. During our three years there we
did plenty of traveling and I saw some incredible things and went
to amazing places like New York, Hawaii and the Grand Canyon. I
was so lucky to have those opportunities. Everything in the States
seemed more relaxed to me, so I loved being their during the
holidays.
How did you select KCT as your school?
We heard about it from other military friends.
How long have you been in school and what do you think are
the best things?
I went to King's Hall from year 6, and joined King's College in 3rd
form. I think the best thing is the independence boarding has enabled
me to have at such a young age, this helped me immensely when
having to travel across the atlantic.
What is your favourite subject/sport and place in school?
My favourite subjects are French and English.
Do you like the uniform?
Having witnessed by brothers not having to wear uniform whilst
going to school in the States I realized uniform is actually a good
thing, and I think what we have to wear is comfortable and practical
however I am looking forward to 6th form where I can be slightly
more individual.
If anything, what do you miss about the US?
Now that we no longer live their, I am really starting to miss everything
about America, it was such a beautiful country. I mostly miss the sea
being round the corner, and incredible weather all year round.
What is your favourite school meal?
I think the school breakfasts are really good, especially continental
on Friday.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
After experiencing three years in America it made me realise the
world is a massive place, and there is so much more to see beyond
England. When I leave King's I hope to go to University out their and
continue living there.
