The 2nd of June is a very important
day for Italy as it celebrates the
Italian Republic Day, that is our
National Day. The main celebration
takes place in Rome but it's
celebrated throughout the whole
country. The day commemorates
the institutional referendum held
by universal suffrage in 1946, in
which the Italian people were
called to the polls to decide on the
form of government following the
Second World War and the fall of
Fascism. It is always a particular
emotion to see the military parade
and the "frecce tricolore" whiz in
the sky! Unfortunately, I am usually
in the showroom busy with the
summer sales campaign but it's a
day which I feel very close to all the
Italian people and my Nation.
