"Learning changes lives
- and we're here to drive
that change"
Oxford University Press understands that many schools have identified maths as an area for
development following teacher feedback, government reports, and our own international
research, in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Working in collaboration with teachers, education specialists and institutions, we are
continually exploring the teaching and learning methods that offer students the best
opportunity to realise their full potential in maths. In this whitepaper we summarise our
findings from the past 12 months, alongside practical solutions that will enable today's
teachers to future proof their classrooms.
We support people wherever and however they want to learn, so they can achieve their
learning goals and uncover new possibilities.
That's why we developed this whitepaper, to empower school leaders and teachers to:
l Challenge traditional approaches to teaching maths and apply learnings from the
pandemic in the long term
l Change perceptions of maths - build curiosity, joy, and wonder for students, teachers
and parents, and reduce anxiety
l Develop and practise behaviours for learning and life, including metacognition, creative
problem solving, collaboration and resilience.
Today, we reach more learners than ever, in more ways than ever.
And we're just getting started.
