Integrated Neurological Services (INS) is a local charity based in Twickenham.
Adults with a range of neurological conditions, including Stroke, Parkinson's,
Multiple Sclerosis and Brain injury, visit our adapted centre for rehabilitation,
social and emotional support. We also have services to support their carers.
We aim to help people live well with their condition and stay as independent
as possible. Our professional staff offer physiotherapy, occupational therapy,
speech and language therapy, counselling and social and creative activities.
These take place at our Twickenham centre, online, in community spaces or
through home visits. People with neurological conditions and their carers can
self-refer to us or have a referral from their GP or health professional.
Everyone who comes to INS has an assessment of their needs, so we can
develop a tailored programme with them which might include individual or
group sessions. One-to-one sessions with a therapist or counsellor can help
people work towards their rehabilitation goals, find ways to deal with
emotional issues and facilitate positive change.
We run a wide variety of groups each week focusing on different areas
including neuro exercise, fitness, symptom management, cognitive or
communication skills. Our open gym, mindfulness and communication café
sessions are very popular and our changing programme of activities currently
includes art appreciation, crafts, creative writing and local history. People have
said they particularly enjoy socialising with others in our groups.
