With Easter done and lighter evenings we are on
our way to a glorious summer. This summer season
is the first in three-years and so it should come
as no surprise that cruise getaways are in high
demand. This month - it's all about European and
Mediterranean cruising with numerous bargains for a
memorable getaway closer to home.
We start, though, with our long-haul offer of the
month - the classic New York shopping Transatlantic
voyage with Cunard. This iconic travel experience
offers the ultimate in relaxation and self-indulgence.
Dig out your glad rags after two-years of being
hidden in the darkest depths of your wardrobe
and do something different to the norm. A week of
Sunday mornings in bed, superlative afternoon tea, fine five-course dining, cocktail lounges, dancing,
theatre performances and promenades around the ship does wonders for your self-esteem and psyche.
Add the glittering buzz of Manhattan and you will have a memorable holiday that most want to repeat.
Plus, you only fly once!
In this edition of Cruise Ahoy we have dedicated a large chunk to European cruising. The cruise lines
seem to have dedicated more ships to the summer European season than ever before. Princess Cruises
has four ships sailing from Southampton and Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has four ships sailing from
different ports of the Med. Plus the newest ships of fleet have been positioned here for their maiden
seasons - such as RCI Wonder of the Seas and Celebrity Beyond. The brand-new Enchanted Princess
has recently been repositioned to Southampton for this summer and staterooms are being snapped up
due to ultra-low launch pricing. Sail for five-nights in a balcony stateroom with drinks included from just
£479pp- this is not a misprint!!
This month NCL have not only extended their Get All 4 Free at Sea campaign - they have also just
reduced the prices across a vast swathe of Med cruises. Island hop across the Greek Isles from Athens
or go for a longer cruise from Rome. NCL have also just relaunched their summer 2023 season of Med
cruises on Norwegian Epic - breaking away from the standard seven-night roundtrip cruises from
Barcelona. In 2023 choose from a selection of nine to 11 nights cruises with stops in Majorca and Ibiza
plus overnight ports of call elsewhere.
In the centre pages we feature our boutique selection of Med cruises on Azamara and Star Clippers.
These smaller ships offer an altogether different cruise experience and reach the parts that larger
cruise ships cannot reach. For the true seafarers out there - Star Clippers is the go-to choice to witness
the hoist of the mainsail and the whoosh of the sea against the wooden hull. Azamara offers a country
club atmosphere afloat with drinks included and exclusive Azamazing evening events ashore. Our
Azamara offer this month gives you the chance to enjoy all they have to offer without the need to fly.
Sail between Southampton and the Med one way and get the superfast train home the other way via
Paris and Eurostar across the channel.
Further afield perhaps opt for a no-flying cruise holiday to the States on Cunard Queen Mary 2, visit
Niagara Falls and Bermuda with NCL or do Vegas & New York City with RCI. It seems us Brits cannot
get enough of scenery and wildlife which perhaps explains why Alaskan cruises are so popular. In this
edition choose from three different options. Combine the delightful San Francisco with a Carnival fun
cruise, compare the Windy City to the Emerald City on the brand-new Discovery Princess or travel on
the iconic Rocky Mountaineer train to Vancouver and join Holland America Line. Other sought after
world class scenic destinations include Angkor Wat, Machu Picchu, The Grand Canyon, Panama Canal
and Australia all with our exclusive Jetline Cruise packages.
Book now - break free and enjoy something different this summer for the first time in three years!
