YOUR FINANCIAL PROTECTION
At the time of going to print we were all holding our
breath in anticipation of being allowed to holiday
abroad from the 17th-May. It was uncertain which
countries would be on the green list - but the cruise
lines have been busy with a raft of newly planned
cruise itineraries for this summer from July onwards.
Greece, Cyprus, Israel and the Caribbean are all likely
candidates followed by the USA towards the end of
the summer.
Our offer of the month picks up on these
expectations with the fabulous Greek island-hopping
cruise offer from Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL).
The line up of Greek islands is simply stunning with a port of call every day. What better way to break
free from endless Groundhog days than to Sirtaki, Souvlaki and Ouzo it up in the sunshine. As with all
these new return to service summer cruise itineraries there are a couple of things to remember. All ships
will initially operate at reduced capacity which means more space. Anyone who travels must have proof
of both Covid vaccinations - we await the government's answer to this. You can only get off the ship at
each port of call if you book the cruise line's excursions. To help with this we have included $300 towards
the cost of excursions for our offer of the month in 2021. Also check out our Princess and RCI summer
2021 no-flying UK cruise offers on pages 4 and 5.
In the centre pages we feature the ever-growing in popularity bucket list cruises on offer by NCL. Take a
voyage across the Indian Ocean, island hop through the South Pacific, cruise along the Great Barrier Reef
and sail around the Java Sea from Bali. Visit Antarctica or follow in the footsteps of Drake, Darwin and
Magellan around Cape Horn. All with drinks included and a fabulous line up of dining options on-board.
New from Princess Cruises is the first summer season on Discovery Princess. Following the delayed
launch from this year she will be cruising the Alaskan coastline throughout summer 2022 from Seattle.
This smart city at sea has been built from the keel upwards with the innovative Ocean Medallion concept
throughout. Having experienced this first-hand - it makes a big difference in terms of service on-board.
You are made to feel like a recognised VIP rather than a number and you don't even have to insert your
card key into your stateroom door!
Carnival Cruises seem to fall under the radar here in the UK whereas in the USA they are a big brand….
And for very good reason too. There are signature brands on-board which make it a memorable holiday
of fun, freedom and choice. While it may seemingly be aimed at families it does give the best adults'
only holidays stiff competition. Enjoy the best stir-fries at sea at Mongolian Wok- turn up, fill in a form
choosing from an endless list of ingredients and enjoy a meal which beats hands down any buffet
lunch at sea. The Alchemy Bar is a masterpiece where white lab-coated technicians produce weird and
wonderful cocktails. The Havana Club is an alternative jumping Latin nightclub venue where the Brits are
welcomed among the tanned and toned to salsa, samba and rhumba the night away. The sign of a good
night here is the need to dry off afterwards! By day - the free and supremely comfortable adult's only
sunbathing area of Serenity is the prefect place to escape the hustle and bustle of the main pool area.
While the theatre transforms on selected nights during each week into the Liquid Lounge making it a
party event not to be missed. There is much more to talk about - check out pages 24 and 25.
Of course, there are many more great holiday ideas in our May edition of Cruise Ahoy. Book now, save
money before the prices go up, give yourself something to look forward to and enjoy!
