Exploring Health Inequalities in border regions
The Cross-border Healthcare Intervention Trials in Ireland Network
(CHITIN) is a unique cross-border partnership between the Public Health Agency
in Northern Ireland and the Health Research Board in the Republic of Ireland, to
develop infrastructure and deliver Healthcare Intervention Trials (HITs). The HITs
will help prevent and cure illness and promote improved health and wellbeing in
NI, RoI and Irish cross-border areas.
Check out @the Cross-border Healthcare Intervention Trials in Ireland Network
(CHITIN) which aims to address inequalities in the border regions of Northern
Ireland and Ireland through 11 cross border Health Care Intervention trials.
Congratulations to Simon Darby who was
honoured in the new year's honours list
We are delighted that Simon, a social worker with
Young Lives vs Cancer (CLIC Sargent), was
recognised for his work with young people living
with cancer.
A number of years ago Simon participated on the
Research Methods Course at Ulster University undertaking an evidence review
and an evaluation study in this area of his work. He subsequently received a MSc
in recognition for his academic work. Now he receives and MBE in recognition for
his work with young people.
