The average rent achieved in February 2023 rose 5% from last month to
over £570 per week - an increase that exceeded the highs of the peak
lettings season in previous summers, including last summer's record levels.
Reaching such high rents at this time of year is a result of the continued
supply and demand imbalance, which caused high competition between
renters.
As expected, rents in Central London were noticeably higher than the other
areas of London. They reached 23% higher year-on-year this February.
