20 Annual review 2023
THANK YOU
IN 2023, MORE THAN 509,000 GENEROUS PEOPLE SUPPORTED OUR FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGNS
BY MAKING CASH DONATIONS TO OUR APPEALS, BUYING OUR RAFFLE TICKETS, PLAYING
OUR LOTTERY, SPONSORING OUR CAT PODS AND DOG KENNELS, GIVING A MONTHLY GIFT,
BEING A MEMBER, GIVING THROUGH THEIR PAYROLL, SUBSCRIBING TO OUR MAGAZINES OR
DONATING VIA THEIR MOBILE PHONE BILL.
We'd like to thank our corporate partners, foundations, individuals, licensees, retailers and trusts for their
generous support in 2023.
We are incredibly grateful to the following supporters:
MAKING A DIFFERENCE
W G Harvey's Discretionary Settlement
Thank you to the W G Harvey's Discretionary Settlement
Trustees for their generous donation, which will enable
our officers in the north of England to continue to reach
animals who desperately need our help - we are
incredibly grateful for the ongoing support.
The Katherine Martin Charitable Trust
Thank you to the extremely generous Katherine Martin
Charitable Trust for continuing to support the expansion
of our crucial pet food banks project and our key
education programmes at RSPCA Birmingham Education
Centre, and for helping us to make life better for the
horses and ponies in our care.
McAdams Pet Foods
McAdams offers the only ultra-premium dry dog and cat
food made using ethically sourced free-range meat and fish
from RSPCA Assured certified farms. McAdams has pledged
to raise a minimum of £100,000 in our second partnership
year of working together to help support our work.
The National Lottery Community Fund
Thank you to The National Lottery Community Fund
for its generous grant supporting our Wild Things
programme at RSPCA Birmingham Education Centre.
These projects support young children and their
families in the local community by getting them out
into nature, which builds connections and boosts their
self-esteem and resilience.
Nestle Purina
In 2023 Purina Petcare provided vital funding for our
Inspectorate Voucher Scheme to help keep pets and their
owners together. We'd like to thank Purina Petcare for
its commitment to promoting responsible pet ownership
and continued support in funding essential veterinary
and pet care treatments for struggling owners.
Network Rail
Our training partnership with Network Rail helps us to
make sure fewer animals come to harm on the railways.
By training Mobile Operations Managers to safely
remove animals from the tracks and supporting the
managers with knowledge of the Animal Welfare Act,
we're able to free up our inspectors' time and ensure
train customers can travel safely from A to B. Thank
you to Network Rail for its continued support.
Omaze UK Ltd
We'd like to say a special thank you to Omaze for
supporting our work by selecting us as the beneficiary
for its Somerset House Draw. An additional thank you
to everyone who entered the draw. The draw raised a
staggering £3.5 million, which went towards the cost
of 50 RSPCA inspectors dealing with animal cruelty,
neglect and abuse across England and Wales.
The Samuel and Freda Parkinson
Charitable Trust
Thank you to this Trust for its fantastic support over
the years and a very generous gift, which has ensured
our officers in north-west England can continue to be
there for the animals who need us most. The Trust also
made it possible to relocate the RSPCA Garden from the
Chelsea Flower Show to our Stapeley Grange Wildlife
Centre in Cheshire. The garden lives on (see page 18)
and will inspire children and young people to create
a better world for all animals.
