Information for Patients and Relatives
To best meet all patients' clinical needs, please note that the location of your care
may change during your hospital stay.
Approaching your date of discharge you may be asked to transfer to the
Discharge Lounge or the Transition Unit.
To make beds available for patients who need to be transferred from the
Emergency Department, staff will identify appropriate patients, based on their
clinical need, to move from their current bed space.
At times of extreme pressure patients who require a further period of observation
on the ward prior to discharge (for a few hours or overnight) may be transferred to
an areas of the ward not routinely used for beds. There will be limited facilities,
however staff will continue to ensure your comfort and meet your needs.
Thank you for your co-operation.
