GUIDELINES FOR VISITORS
In South Eastern Trust we recognise and value families and friends as an integral
part of the care provided within this setting. Friends and families are welcome to
visit during visiting hours which are displayed at ward level.
If you would like to be involved in any aspects of your relative's care please talk to
nursing staff. In order to help us to provide the best care for our patients we
would ask that you keep the following in mind.
Please be mindful of the importance of rest for patients
Please respect that patients may not always want to have visitors
You may be asked to limit the number of people visiting at any one time
Children are welcome when supervised by an adult. Restrictions will be
advised in specific circumstances such as outbreaks and some infections
Due to the importance of nutrition to our patients we would ask that you do
not visit over mealtimes unless your relative would like you to help with
their meal
Visitors may be asked to vacate a room at any time for person care and
treatment to be carried out, to ensure privacy on Doctor's ward rounds, and
for the room to be cleaned. If this happens there are designated areas for
you to sit in while you wait
At times, visiting may be restricted due to infection control requirements -
please observe signs and follow the advice of nursing staff
We are happy to answer queries about your relative, however, it is helpful
if you can nominate one member of your family to speak with ward staff
and then feed back to the other as necessary
If you need to visit outside of the visiting hours please speak to the nurse in
charge.
