DISCHARGE LOUNGE
WHAT IS THE DISCHARGE LOUNGE?
The Discharge Lounge is a hospital ward designed to look after patients
who have been declared medically fit and are just waiting for their
discharge medication and / or transport to take them home.
WHERE IS THE DISCHARGE LOUNGE?
The Discharge Lounge is located in Ward 6 in the main hospital building.
DISCHARGE LOUNGE FACILITIES
The discharge lounge provides a comfortable and safe environment for
patients being discharged. You will be cared for by registered nurses and
nursing assistants. Patients are provided with a choice of meals and tea
and coffee are available at any time. There is a free television, radio,
newspapers, magazines, phone access, recliner chairs, beds to lay down
for a rest and disabled toilet facilities.
DISCHARGE LOUNGE PROCESS
On arriving in the Discharge Lounge the Nurse will go through your
discharge plan with you and give you an idea on how long it will all take.
They will then make any further arrangements you require and contact
your family for you if you wish to make arrangements for your pick up.
They will go through your discharge medications with you and answer any
questions you may have.
